It is a Noble Truth that ATTACHMENT CAUSES SUFFERING – DETACHMENT ENABLES LET GO.?All the worldly phenomena including our body and mind are constantly changing

ATTACHMENT CAUSES SUFFERING

NOTHING IS permanent soon as, we establish an attachment to anything, we are bound to feel suffering. Because by nature we would try to keep that under our possession permanently. Which is at all not possible. Either that thing will have constant changes or we would be unable to keep that in our possession permanently.

CONTEMPLATION

Actually, whatever is close to us will be a source of unsatisfactorily.
For example, A and B are spouses. Due to the mental feelings, both of them develop attachment of me and mine. Both will treat other as his/her personal property. A may expect the behavior of B as per his likes and vice versa. Other’s unexpected behavior will certainly, cause feelings of suffering.

DETACHMENT ENABLES LET GO

On the contrary, it is required that both shall accept each other attachment of possessiveness. It will help them to enjoy their life. They will be able to let go of the mental feeling of unsatisfactoriness when another one performs the disliked behavior. Definitely, it will increase their love towards each other. Detachment will never cause bitterness rather it will enhance love between them.

ATTAINMENT OF WISDOM

True understanding and practice of letting go increase our following abilities.

1. Loving Kindness:- It develops our ability to understand the feelings of others. Therefore, we would be able to perform our activities with a mental feeling full of loving-kindness

2. Compassion:- Certainly, detachment enhances the mental feelings of compassion towards other living beings. Compassion encourages us to have a deep involvement in the enjoyment of life.

3. Gratitude:- While practicing letting go we would be able to keep ourselves free from any kind of clinging. Obviously, we would be able to express our gratitude for our life and everything coming out of it.

4. Equanimity:- By following the practice of letting go we would be able to avoid discrimination. It would certainly, encourage us to look around with a perspective of equanimity in every outcome.

CONCLUSION

We must enjoy the entire worldly phenomena by practicing detachment of self. To attain this we shall have to practice the letting go and detachment towards whatever arises and passes away.
