HAPPINESS

Every human may attain Happiness by following the Noble Eightfold Path of Meditation. All of us can practice it as it is a 24 x 7 activity. Actually, all the tasks are performed with full awareness.

I am pleased to invite all the co-bloggers to express their views on my this coming series of meditation.

It is natural that some questions may arise in our mind about, the much talked about a word, ‘MEDITATION’ such as:-
1.What is it?
2.Why should it be done?
3.How to practice it.

In simple words, we can describe it as ‘ making the mind peaceful by practicing the NOBLE EIGHTFOLD PATH ENUNCIATED BY LORD BUDDHA.

It can be practiced in all the four postures of the human body that is, sitting, standing, walking and lying down. Actually, it is a 24 hours x 7 days phenomena.

While doing meditation we develop awareness by focussing on:-

1. Inhalation and exhalation of our breath.
2. Hearing of the sound of silence.
We may practice either of these or both. These time-bound practices are a sort of support system, but the actual meditation is ‘To be aware of each and every activity is undertaken’.

There are three stages of every incidence.

1.With the help of our sensory organs and mind,? obviously, we come into contact with any object or thought which are beyond our control.

2.whenever there is contact the mind automatically evaluates it as good/ favorable, bad/ unfavorable or neutral, which is also beyond our control.

3.After this evaluation, We must refrain our self from clinging. as a matter of fact, we shall not aspire to more favorable conditions and get rid of the unfavorable ones. Actually, It is prudent?to?keep?our self-undisturbed whenever we face an unpleasant?situation.

specifically, we must develop the wisdom to keep the agitated mind calm in all the pleasant and unpleasant situations. Certainly, we would be able to enjoy our life by practicing this ‘Noble Path’. All of us shall perform each and every task with awareness and attain the much-desired peace of mind and discharge our duties efficiently.
We will discuss How to Practice the Meditation in the next posts.
