In meditation practice we shall follow moral values and develop constant concentration. the concentration ensures the development of wisdom.
“Samadhi that is on the level of Samtha- Tranquility- is like a rock covering grass. In samadhi we perceive objects? even when the eyes are open. Specifically in such a situation we attain wisdom.? When wisdom has been born, it encompasses? and knows(‘rules’) all things.
So it is necessary not to be attached to sitting or any other particular posture. Samadhi dosen’t reside in having the eyes closed, the eyes opened or in sitting, standing, walking or lying down. Samadhi pervades all postures and activities.
The true goal of samadhi is to develop wisdom. It is always possible in all of the human activities. We just only have to be aware of the actions we accomplish.Specifically, we shall refrain from diverting our mind towards other past happenings or future expectations.
For example most of the time we eat our food by remaining unaware. Whereas, in the activity of eating food all of our sense organs are fully active. As soon as the food is bought, our eyes evaluate the type & quality of it by seeing. If the quality is substandard the mind will start the process of aversion. On the contrary, if it’s quality seems to be excellent we will desire more of it. Similarly, the nose will evaluate the smell & fragrance, fingers it’s texture, hotness or coldness, tongue it’s taste, ears sound of bites & chewing. So it is necessary that we remain fully focused and aware of the enjoyment of the food, nothing else.
It is the utmost necessity that we shall develop awareness in such a way so that we remain fully focused on the activity we undertake.
