In order to TRANSCEND SUFFERING ONE MUST FOLLOW THE NOBLE PATH. All of us prefer constant happiness. None want to inflict suffering to oneself. But due to the wrong view, we instantly react to apparent conditions and invite suffering

FOCUS ON TRANSCENDING SUFFERING

We establish contact with an outside object through any of our sense organs and immediately start the reaction. This may either lead to clinging or to aversion.

For Example:- I went to give a sermon to a gathering of a few friends. It is obvious that out of them some may like and some other may dislike that. The suffering start raising its head as soon as I cultivate aspirations of listening to the words of likes only. To transcend unsatisfactoriness I must accept both the likes and dislikes without any pleasure or frustration.

Actually, we must observe and accept whatever the outcome may be. Once we start observation of outside conditions like this we would be able to transcend the sufferings.

Certainly, it is required that we leave the outside conditions in their natural way. It is obvious that we experience suffering when we discard the right view.

THE APPARENT BLOCKS OFF THE TRANSCENDENT

The Legend Ajahn Chah had explained it very beautifully:-

” What is blocking to the people? The apparent blocks off the transcendents are preventing people from seeing the things clearly. People study, learn, and practice with ignorance, just like a person who has lost his bearings. Though he walks to the west but thinks that he is walking to east. Or he is walking to the north thinking he is walking to the south. This is how far the people have gone astray. This kind of practice invite disaster only. It is so because they turn around and go in the opposite direction.

POSSESSION OF THINGS

All of us by default have a desire for permanent possession of things and constant control over them. To possess and use of things is a natural phenomenon. The problem of suffering arises when we start cultivating the desire for permanent possession and control.

CONCLUSION

We must follow the Noble Path with right understanding. Observation and acceptance of the apparent in its natural form will lead to transcending all kinds of suffering.
